Can I trust Micromax ?
Now there are some question many people are asking me that is Micromax a Chinese company or can I trust Micromax or are Micromax phones worth buying ?
So let me make this thing very clear that Micromax is an Indian company which is based in Gurgaon. So it is not at all a Chinese brand. I've even noticed that some people do not accept it as a good mobile phone brand as it is an Indian company. Believe me, we Indians have a lot of potential and we should be proud
that an Indian company is doing so well in the mobile phone market. So I will say that Micromax can be trusted. Its products are worth buying, specially the Canvas 2 and Canvas HD are a very good buy at that price.
I would like to tell you that Micromax is the 12th largest handset manufacturer in the world and 3rd largest manufacturer in India. According to industry analysts, as of 2012, Micromax leads the Indian tablet market with a share of 18.4%, ahead of Samsung and Apple, and is the third largest mobile phone vendor in terms of volume. The company includes 14 locations: Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri-Lanka, Maldives, UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Afghanistan and Brazil.
After the immense success of its 5 inch phablet Canvas 2, now Micromax has launched the Canvas HD. The Canvas HD looks like another upcoming wonderful phablet.
Canvas HD will be available under the 15000 price tag. A quad core processor is being used in this phone with 1GB of RAM and it runs on Android 4.0 Jelly Bean.
Micromax has being giving a strong competition to big mobile brands in the low price segment for a few years now but after the success of Canvas 2 and with the launch of Canvas HD, Micromax is ready to compete the big players in the mid price segment too. So this is a good news for the buyers because a tough competition means buyers will be able to get products at a lesser price.Micromax CEO Deepak Mehrotra told reporters at the launch that they are planning to bring in 30 smart phones this year. This is a big no. and specially after the success of Canvas 2 the big players in the market are not going to take Micromax lightly at all.
Now let us talk about how has Micromax managed to become one of the fastest growing mobile brands. Well Micromax in the beginning came up with phones having long lasting batteries like for a period of 30 days or so. But the key factors that took it to the final success are
1. Low cost & high feature products
2. A good marketing strategy
3. Distribution
To give a high on features product at a very tight budget is not an easy job, but Micromax has done it quite well. They have also been successful in advertising their products as well as their brand very well. They have sponsored numerous events like cricket tournaments, shows and many more. This has helped Micromax to connect well with the people. This has made people aware about the brand. This has in turn helped a lot. The perception of most people about the brand is fast changing except for some foreign brand lovers, who seem to a little rigid in accepting an Indian brand. Now another factor that has contributed to the growth and success of Micromax is its supply chain management or its distribution pattern in spite of being a new brand in the market.
So in all Micromax seems to be giving a good fight to all the other competitors for a bigger market share and it will not at all be surprising to me if Micromax picks up the second spot in the mobile phone market by the end of this year. Micromax is the next big thing in Indian mobile phone market.

A very well explained post. My friend was using Micromax handset. It was really good handset. I am also now thinking to try it out once. Just waiting for the Micromax A116 Canvas HD !

ReplyDeletedude..i guess u r having a older version of viva which has 216 gm ram,,the new version of micromax viva has 512 mb ram and 512 mb rom,,which supports all hd games.u can check the new version of canvas a72 viva at micromaxinfo.in.
Deleten there are many videos on youtube to increase ram in any micromax smartphone handset, u can try any of them,n hope for the best.
Please don't, its quality is not up to mark. I am suffuring. I purchased Micromax ninja on May 17th 2013 and it's sencer and touch pad started malfunctioning within one month. I went to servicenter and gave them it on 7th July its 22nd july; still waiting it to be served. If you will see the huge crowed at service center you can imagine the quality is not al all good.

Deletei am interesting in the supplier chain of Mircomax, surely it's an incredible brand in India, but i don't see mobile phone supplier chain in India, so i guess the phone are made in China and imported to India and sell as India brand "Mircomax". if i am wrong, welcome to correct me by email: lovicki@outlook.com

ReplyDeleteMicromax Does Not Manufactures any mobile it just rebrands Cheap chinese phones , which you wont buy even for half of price if they are sold to you by their original names . Since it does not manufactures any mobiles it does not have/need its own Hardware R&D department and result of which customers suffers and have to wait for their product to get repaired from service centers . The hardware is not tested for quality and there are large number of Display , Power and Camera issues in micromax phones .

it gives 16mp cam but image looks like 5mp cam image which taken from branded phone
it gives 2000mah battery but it will drained out within 8hrs, a branded phone with 1500mah gives more than one day backup
it gives hd display but looks very odd
the finishing doesnt looks gud if see in live , in images and paper ads it looks gud but the finishing look is very bad
ReplyDeleteMy son gifted me Micromax Unite 2 Mobile Phone on Father's day i.e. on 14-6-2014 evening at Delhi and it went on COMA on 18-6-2014 noon at Lucknow. Its Power Switch is not working. Now it is lying in ICU of Micromax Service Center Lucknow. I have contacted the service center two times in the last week. Finally they asked me to contact after fifteen days to know about the condition of the phone. They are not giving and exact time they requi9re to rectify the fault. I am a 68 years old senior citizen and it is very horrible for me to go to service center personally in such a hot season.
I Used this phone hardly for four days. During this period my experience was very poor about this phone. The battery backup is very poor. The phone heats up within five minutes of use. The quality of camera is also up to the mark. The results are as of 3 mp camera. In my openion based on my first and last experience - NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a Micromax Product.

DeleteIf we are getting features worth Rs. 20,000 in Rs. 10,000-12,000 then we will have to compromise on some other things for sure. One of these things is the after sales service. It has been long enough now but still after sales service is a dept. which is still causing a lot of trouble for Micromax.
What about software update??
